Eight volcanic earthquakes, including five volcanic tremors, had been recorded in Taal Volcano in the past 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported on Tuesday.

In its latest bulletin, PHIVOLCS said these volcanic earthquakes had a duration of five hours and 57 minutes.on Monday, according to PHIVOLCS.

Taal Volcano emitted 5,887 tonnes of sulfur dioxide on July 12, PHIVOLCS said, adding that an upwelling of hot volcanic fluids was observed in the Main Crater Lake.Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 1 due to low-level unrest. Entry to Taal Volcano Island remains prohibited, especially to the main crater and Daang Kastila fissures, as well as occupancy and boating on Taal Lake.PHIVOLCS warned of possible hazards such as steam-driven, phreatic, or gas-driven explosions, volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall, and lethal accumulations or expulsions of volcanic gas.
