Suspects in Killing of Radio Broadcaster Apprehended in Misamis Occidental

The suspects in the killing of radio broadcaster Juan 'DJ Johnny Walker' Jumalon in Misamis Occidental have been apprehended, according to the Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS). The PTFoMS Executive Director Undersecretary Paul M. Gutierrez identified the arrested individuals as Boboy Sagaray Bongcawel and Renante Saja Bongcawel, both 39 years old.

They were captured on March 15 in Barangay Poblacion, Sapang Dalaga, Misamis Occidental by the joint operation of Calamba and Sapang Dalaga Municipal Police Stations, based on the arrest warrant issued by Calamba Executive Judge Michael Lotao Ajoc of the Regional Trial Court Branch 36, 10th Judicial Region. No bail was recommended for their temporary release. It was reported that Boboy was armed and held the helper of Jumalon's radio station at gunpoint while Renante served as the getaway motorcycle driver
