According to Emil Sumangil's Tuesday 24 Oras report, victim “Jean” said that she and the suspect entered into a relationship when she was 16 years old and the suspect was of legal age.She shared that the suspect was often jealous and demanded she stay at home.“Sobrang seloso niya, sobrang higpit niya. Gusto niya nasa bahay lang ako alam dapat niya ang galaw ko,” she said.

Jean reported the matter to the police, who set up an entrapment operation.The suspect was successfully detained despite his attempt to escape and resist arrest.“Maraming beses ako nagtimpi, na huwag kami umabot sa ganitong sitwasyon, kasi malapit din sa akin ang pamilya niya… Ilang beses ako nagmamaka-awa… Sabi ng mga kaibigan ko, ‘Ipakulong mo na yan!’, pero ilang beses ko siyang pinagbigyan,” Jean said.
