According to Katrina Son’s “24 Oras Weekend” report on Saturday, the suspect was arrested on Friday afternoon after two witnesses identified him to the authorities.
The San Fernando Police and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office located the body of the 67-years-old victim only 50 meters away from his house.However, they doubted that the victim accidentally died from a fall. “May tumawag na meron daw nahulog ng bangin. Pero nang dumating na ang tropa namin, nakita nila na parang tinaga ang biktima na tinamaan ang kanyang leeg,” Police Major Efren Diaz Jr., chief of the San Fernando Police Station, said.
Aside from allegedly killing the senior citizen, police said the suspect may have also robbed the victim since it was reported that the senior was a money lender.“Tinitingnan natin ang anggulo na baka may nanghiram ng pera sa kanya na hindi pa nakapagbayad,” Diaz said. The suspect also tried to escape, however, someone saw that he immediately went to his house after the crime.
