Cybersecurity firm Rapid7 revealed findings of a ransomware study, which indicated, among others, that on a global average, ransomware payouts hover around $850,000.
Robin Long, field CTO of Rapid7 for APAC, added that the study also noted that in the last 12 months, activities of ransomware cases have been on the upswing. The company saw or detected 5,200 cases in that period, Long said. Long further said initial Access as a Service has been gaining ground in the cybercrime underworld. Simply put, AaaS gives access to company resources to cyberthreat actors.Long further said in light of ransomware attacks, companies must learn about the importance of gaining “cyber clarity” in detecting and responding to threats, understanding and gaining.
