The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Sunday (July 5) said there will still be no number coding scheme next week.

“There is still no coding next week. We decided to keep the number coding scheme lifted for the meantime due to the insufficient modes of transportation during the implementation of the community quarantine,” Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago, MMDA spokesperson said.

“This is also to help our commuters during these trying times. We took them into consideration,” Pialago added. She reminded that motorists should only get out of their homes for essential tasks like work, and not for leisure. “If you do not have anything important to do outside, stay at home and be with your family. The virus is still here. There is no cure yet for COVID-19,” she said. The Palace earlier said allowing all modes of transportation will defeat the purpose of the community quarantine.
