The Philippine Navy aims to acquire two more small warships under the Corvette Acquisition Project, which is part of the Revised Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program “Horizon” Phase 2.
“It’s a very enticing proposal dahil nga wala tayong outright na pera na mai-aano. Kung wala tayong masyadong pera ngayon , we can amortize it through the years,” he added. The HHI is currently building two Jose Rizal-class missile frigates worth P18 billion, which are expected to be delivered next year. Its lead ship, the semi-stealth frigate BRP Jose Rizal is due in April 2020.
