Senate President Vicente Sotto III slammed some members of the House of Representatives for insisting on shorter terms of office for senators.

“Bakit ba mainit sila sa Senate ?” Sotto said in a text message to reporters Wednesday night.

The resolution proposed a one-year extension to the current three-year terms of congressmen and elective local officials. They would then be allowed to serve three consecutive terms. “At the rate some people are focusing on the Senate, the more the senators will stone wall. That’s my fearless forecast,” he said.“Compare the ratings of the HOR and the Senate then tell me if we need changing,” he said.
