– Relief aids for victims of the February 3 conflagration in Jolo continued to pour in, with soldiers from the Western Mindanao Command joining the humanitarian bandwagon while busy hunting an armed group that abducted a physician from the island town in grief.
Sobejana said the relief items were donated by Southern Philippines Deep Sea Fishing, Permex Zamboanga, Filipino Turkish Tolerance School, Woman Auxiliary Service, Western Mindanao Power Corporation, Venus Salon, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Southern City Colleges, eMedia Production Network, Inc., BlueShark Development and Trading Corporation, and other military units.
According to military account, “over 2,800 families” were left homeless by the conflagration that gutted down houses made of light materials at Barangays Chinese Pier, Takot-Takot, Tulay, and Zones 1 and 4 in Jolo, Sulu before noon on Feb. 3. The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos had earlier disclosed receiving unconfirmed information that the fire originated from a house serving as a bunkhouse for petroleum supplies.
Marami pong salamat mga sir 🙏
