DKT Philippines Foundation's SODEX or Service Outreach and Distribution Extension Program Mobile Clinic was launched in Binangonan, Rizal on Wednesday, May 8.The bus is equipped to perform free bilateral tubal ligation on women and non-scalpel vasectomy on men.
Family-planning commodities like pills, condoms, injectables, and intrauterine devices will also be given for free. The mobile clinic will travel for 119 days to offer these free services in Central Luzon, Northern Luzon, Cordillera, Mimaropa, and Calabarzon, with the first stop being Binangonan where the demand for family planning services is high.Denise van Dijk, board chairman of DKT Philippines Foundation, said: “The Sodex mobile clinic ensures that people who cannot access the reproductive health services they need in the public sector are not left behind and still have free access to these services.
