MANILA - Singaporean President Halimah Yacob on Tuesday visited Davao City, President Rodrigo Duterte's hometown, during her 5-day visit in the country.

MANILA - Singaporean President Halimah Yacob on Tuesday visited Davao City, President Rodrigo Duterte's hometown, during her 5-day visit in the country.Halimah, who is the first female President of Singapore, will later have dinner with local Davao officials.

She will also attend a tour of the Philippine Eagle Foundation Center in the city and hold a dialogue with youth from Mindanao in Ateneo de Davao. The Singaporean leader earlier visited Manila and laid a flower wreath before the monument of Dr. Jose Rizal at Luneta Park in the capital. She also went to the opening of Singaporium, a meeting among the members of the Philippines-Singapore Business Council in Manila.

Halimah arrived in the country and discussed strengthening bilateral ties between Singapore and the Philippines with Duterte. Both leaders signed bilateral agreements, including 8 memoranda of understanding on education, agriculture, infrastructure, and culture, among others.- Report from Louie Angchay, ABS-CBN News
