BREAKING: Signal No. 1 has been raised in Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, and parts of Northeastern Cagayan due to Tropical Depression CarinaPH

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 has been raised in Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands and parts of Northeastern Cagayan including Sta. Ana, Gonzaga, Sta. Teresita, Buguey, and the eastern portions of Lal-lo, Gattaran, and Baggao, among others.

Areas under Signal No. 1 will experience intermittent rains within at least 36 hours, with winds of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour . Carina was located 315 kilometers east of Tuguegarao, Cagayan as of 3:00 a.m., packing winds of 45 kph and gusts of 55 kph. Speaking to CN Philippines' New Day, weather specialist Ariel Rojas said Carina continues to move westward at 20 kph, and will pass close to northeastern section between Cagayan and Babuyan Islands between Monday night and Tuesday morning.Carina is forecast to weaken into a low pressure area before exiting Philippine territory early Wednesday morning.
