Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Metro Manila and parts of Luzon due to the shear line—a boundary line where cold air from the northeast monsoon and warm winds from the easterlies meets, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Flooding and landslides are likely during moderate to heavy rains in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Aurora, and Bicol Region. Meanwhile, cloudy and rainy weather may persist in Apayao and Cagayan Valley because of the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”It said the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy weather with light monsoon rains.PAGASA said the low pressure area east of Palawan left the country’s area of responsibility around 2 a.m., Wednesday.
