Department of Public Works and Highways 11 (DPWH 11) spokesperson Dean Ortiz on Friday revealed that a big percentage of DPWH projects in Davao City from 2020 to 2023 were suspended due to Road Right-Of-Way (RROW) concerns.

Ortiz said that the agency is still awaiting for settlement between DPWH and the affected property owners or affected structures. For the 2023 regular infrastructure program, as of February 29, 2024, DPWH 11 has a total of 31 projects in the city: 12 in the First District, 13 in the Second District and six in the Third District.“Allocation is the overall cost of the project that includes the Right-Of-Way funds,” he said.

For the 2022 regular infrastructure program, DPWH 11 has a total of 52 projects amounting to P9.89 billion. Of these projects, eight are ongoing, 27 are suspended due to RROW issues, and 17 are completed with a total accomplishment of 78.53 percent.
