MANILA - The Senate on Monday adopted a resolution seeking to revive the body's oversight committee on intelligence and confidential funds, programs and activities.

Resolution 310, filed on Feb. 3, was penned by Senate President Vicente Sotto III and Sen. Panfilo Lacson. The two senators said the first controversy they will look into is the P300 million Department of Information and Communications Technology intelligence fund that former DICT Usec. Eliseo Rio, Jr. questioned last week.Upon its adoption, Sotto promptly announced the composition of the Senate Oversight Committee on Intelligence and Confidential Funds.

Lacson will chair the panel, while Senators Christopher "Bong" Go, Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, Francis Tolentino and Nancy Binay will serve as members representing the majority bloc.Reports of alleged anomalous cash advances by the DICT surfaced after Rio announced his intent to resign.
