The Senate will go on a month-long Holy Week break starting today, Wednesday, March 11.

But before formally closing the plenary session, Senate President Vicente Sotto III approved the Adopted Senate Resolution No. 15 which authorizes all regular standing committees, oversight committees, and special committees of the Senate to conduct hearings, meetings and consultations during the recess.Likewise, Senate committees are also authorized to conduct investigations on issues of national interests to aid in crafting relevant legislation.

“However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak we advise our colleagues to exercise extra caution and better judgment if they will continue with the hearings,” Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri said.
