As Christendom marks the second Sunday of Lent, March 8, a Roman Catholic Church leader called on the faithful “to seek forgiveness from God who is always merciful.”

Novaliches Bishop Roberto Gaa advised the faithful not to hesitate in seeking God’s forgiveness despite being sinful and unworthy.

“We only need to humble ourselves like the example given by Jesus Christ. Maybe, a person is hesitant to come to God because of the enormous offenses that he has committed against others and against God, but remember that, we have a merciful God who is always ready to forgive and accept us back,” the bishop added.“Let us make the Lenten season meaningful as we await the resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday. Christ gave up His life to save mankind. He suffered for our sins.
