CAPAS, Tarlac—Eric Cray of the Philippines fulfilled his promise to defend the title in his favorite Southeast Asian Games event — the 400-meter hurdles — cruising to the gold at New Clark City's Athletics Stadium here on Tuesday.
Cray crossed the finish line in 50.21 seconds, beating silver medalist Cong Lich Quach of Vietnam and Filipino Francis Medina . The Filipino sprinter, who has won the event since the 2013 Myanmar SEA Games, upped the home track team's gold harvest to 10.
