BURGOS, Ilocos Norte — Halos 1 buwan nang bukas ang tindahan sa loob ng Burgos Central Elementary School kung saan maaaring ipalit ng mga estudyante ang kanilang naipong mga plastik sa sari-saring school supplies at grocery items. Kaya ang mga estudyante, imbes na mga gamit at baon lang ang dala sa paaralan, may bitbit na ring mga plastik na bote, wrappers, at pakete.
Ang Grade 6 student na si John Bryan Saludares, ipinalit ang dalang mga plastik sa mantika at toyo para umano sa kaniyang lola. Gagawing eco-bricks ang mga naipong basura ng Burgos Central Elementary School. Ang kanilang proyekto ay alinsunod sa solid waste management program ng Barangay Poblacion ng Burgos, katuwang ang lokal na pamahalaan at isang wind power corporation.
