The first batch of Nutribuns will be donated to Caritas Manila.SMC president and chief operating officer Ramon Ang said the bread is packed with nutrients and provides instant energy at 250 calories per bun. “This is safe, sufficient and nutritious food for the hardest-hit families facing hunger as a result of the COVID-19 crisis,” Ang said.
Nutribun, which was introduced in the 70s, was distributed primarily to public elementary school students as a complete meal, in a bid to combat child malnutrition in the country.
