The second top drug personality in Novaliches, Quezon City was killed after engaging in a shootout with policemen during a buy-bust operation on Tuesday night.
An initial report showed that operatives of PS-4 Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a drug sting against Simos at Ginintuang Landas Street in Sitio Arguadiente, Barangay Sta. Monica around 11:30 p.m. This prompted the suspect to draw his handgun and open fire at responding officers resulting in a shootout.
Police identified the victim as Jonathan Rojales, 28; and the suspect as Bonifacio Bendoy, 43; both residents of the area.
