MANILA, Philippines: Adrian Nocum fired 28 points, Beau Belga added 21 as Rain or Shine ended a winless spell with a 100-85 rout of Phoenix in their Season 48 PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Nocum went on a tear during a critical second quarter ROS run that saw his team outscore Phoenix, 25-13 to grab a 47-41 halftime lead. The Elasto Painters pushed the tempo from there, extending their lead to as big as 100-83 en route to ending its 0-4 start and finally, booking their first victory for the conference.Belga's inside presence was largely felt by Rain or Shine as hauled down 11 rebounds while Jhon Clarito had 19 markers and five boards.

Pero before that we just couldn't close out games, we couldn't finish in the endgame. Hirap kami lalo na pagka nagmimintis kami ng free throws,' said Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao.'We were also not getting our desired percentages sa three-point shots. We took so many three-point attempts that were open but they were not going in. But I just kept telling the guys if you're open for a three, just keep taking it, huwag ng isipin kung ano percentage,' added Guiao.
