Provincial and local officials feasted on roasted pigs commonly known as ‘lechon baboy’ and other pork meat viands to prove that pork sourced from this city and the entire province is African Swine Fever (ASF) free and safe for human consumption.

Provincial and local officials in Rizal had a ‘boodle fight’-style dinner to allay fears and convince the public that meat in the province is safe for human consumption.

Ynares said strict measures and government sanctioned protocols are in place and being implemented all over the province to ensure that unhealthy pigs and tainted pig products will not get to the province. Several residents also had their chance to join the ‘boodle fight’ in separate long tables set at the provincial capitol grounds in response to the call of Governor Ynares not to be worried about the safety of pork meat coming from the province.
