A 76-year-old retired teacher died after being run over by a garbage truck in Barangay Baesa, Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 4.

The Quezon City Police District District Traffic Enforcement Unit Traffic Sector 6 identified the victim as Luzviminda Evangelista, a resident of Barangay Baesa.

According to the initial report, the garbage truck being driven by Dominador Fernandez Malate, 50, of Pasig City was traversing Baesa Road coming from Quirino Highway and going to Caloocan when it hit and ran over the victim who was crossing the road.The suspect was placed under police custody.
