BACOLOD CITY – The remains of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who was killed in the war between Hamas and Israel arrived in her hometown Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Sunday, October 22.

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration officer-in-charge regional director 𝗥𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝘀 and Department of Migrant Workers officer-in-charge regional director 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗮 assisted the family of Loreta Alacre as they claimed her remains at the Bacolod-Silay Airport in...

Alacre, 49, of Barangay Cadiz Viejo, was killed while she was attending a music festival near the boundary of the Gaza Strip on October 7 in an attack by Hamas militants.The family of Alacre has received a P500,000 cash assistance from House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and wife Tingog party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez.

The amount was turned over by a representative of the House Speaker, Rizalino"Ino" Roxas II, and a representative from Tingog party-list, Delwyn Layson, to Annabella Alacre on October 18 in the presence of Loreta’s six other siblings at their residence.A heroine’s welcome will be held in Cadiz in honor of Alacre.
