Its official launch is slated at the Manila International Auto Show in April, but if you happen to be at Subaru showrooms, you’ll probably see a glimpse of the 2022 Forester already on display there.
Carried over from the pre-facelift version is the powertrain and for that, it’s a 2.0-liter flat-4 making 156 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque mated to a CVT driving all four wheels. Headlining Subaru’s compact SUV is the latest-generation Subaru EyeSight system. EyeSight 4.0— enables the Forester to conform to Level 2 semi-autonomous driving technology. It adds automatic lane centering on top of current functionalities such as autonomous emergency braking and all-speed adaptive cruise control. An infrared and driver-facing camera also offers gesture controls as well as a personalized smart facial recognition and driver fatigue detection.
