SANTIAGO CITY—The number of active COVID-19 cases in Quirino has jumped to 220 as of Tuesday , prompting officials to further tighten border control.ADVERTISEMENT

Most of the active cases were found in the towns of Diffun, Saguday, Nagtipunan, Cabarroguis, Aglipay and Maddela. At an online press briefing, Quirino Gov. Dakila Cua said the province will impose stricter measures compatible with modified enhanced community quarantine, the second most stringent form of quarantine in the Philippines.
