Quarantine passes back under MECQ - Año

will be implemented once more under modified enhanced community quarantine , Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año reminded the public on Monday, August 3.

"Under MECQ, we need to use quarantine passes," Año said in an interview with dzMM, echoing the announcement of Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III on Sunday evening. Año added that checkpoints at the borders of the quarantine areas will again be enforced by the police.Under MECQ, travel is restricted to essential work and the procurement of needs. Quarantine passes are given to essential workers and a member of each family that will regularly obtain the needs for the rest of their kin.

To recall, President Duterte announced late Sunday evening, August 2, that Metro Manila will be placed under MECQ from August 4 to August 18 after for the government to tighten rules again amid the country's soaring number of positive coronavirus cases.
