While it supports education and learning continuity amid the pandemic, a council urged the government to allow quality education to thrive by supporting the private education system.

“Education indeed should not only continue. For us, quality education must thrive,” said Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations Managing Director Joseph Noel Estrada in a virtual forum hosted by think tank Stratbase Albert del Rosario Institute.have too much human resources and facilities,” Estrada said. “We do not have the enrollment. The problem is sustainability,” he added.

“Let the private sector be the ones to educate,” Chikiamco said. “Instead of free college tuition for state schools, they should expand the scholarship and let the individual student choose which school that they will go to,” he added. “Without the private sector’s active involvement in national recovery, the Philippines may not be able to quickly overcome the ongoing crisis,” Manhit stressed.
