According to QCPD, further investigation revealed that the same suspect was arrested in a separate anti-drug sting last January 24, in an operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Kamuning Police Station.The suspect and nine other arrested individuals in other buy-bust operations conducted by the QCPD would face charges for violating various sections of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Torres meanwhile assured Quezon City residents that they would continue the campaign against illegal drugs. “Sa mga mamamayan ng lungsod Quezon, asahan po ninyo na mas paiigtingin at palalawakin ng Quezon City Police District ang ating kampanya kontra illegal na droga,” he said. “Ito ay isang anay sa ating lipunan at patuloy na sumisira sa buhay ng karamihan, subalit kailangan namin ang inyong kooperasyon at suporta para makamit ang isang ‘Drug Free Community’,” he added.
