A Grade 9 student from a public school in Dagupan City, Pangasinan was recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) for winning the bronze medal in the Copernicus Olympiad Global Round - Natural Science Category IV held in Houston, Texas, USA.

Venisce Elisha M. Rodriguez, a student of Science Technology and Engineering at Dagupan City National High School was among the participants from 20 countries.

As one of the participants, Rodriguez had the opportunity to visit the National Aeronautics and Space Administration headquarters. Ely Rodriguez, the student’s mother, said since he was young, he often told stories about what he read about viruses and bacteria, astronomy, biodiversity, and anything else related to science.
