MANILA, Philippines— With 67 days left before the Southeast Asian Games, there are still problems hounding venues and equipment that will be used for the country's hosting.
Appearing before the committee on Monday, Ramirez told lawmakers that the Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee claims the venues of the games are 85% to 90% ready but he believes the figure is not 90%. Ramirez, however, said that while this may be viewed as a crisis in a private entity, in government they are already looking for solutions.
About P1 billion of the remainder goes to the PSC for direct funding on activities, while the rest goes to the Philippine Olympic Committee.
