ILOILO CITY – The privatization of the Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan, Iloilo may push through by the first quarter of 2025, the Department of Transportation said.Enrique Antonio Esquivel III, DoTr assistant secretary for Aviation and Airport s, in a letter addressed to Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas on May 6, said, 'we envisage the award of the project to the private sector within the 1st quarter of 2025.

5, 2023 and its implementing rules and regulations took effect on April 6, 2024.The negotiation period of the DoTr, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines , and PPP Center for the airport's privatization started on April 26.Esquivel said the negotiation period will take 80 calendar days and can be extended to 150 calendar days.
