With two weeks left before the new school year begins, Education officials said printing and distribution of modules have yet to be completed.

“Ang ulat sa amin ng regional offices, ongoing ang distribution. Possible talaga 47,000 schools kami pag maghahanap tayo yung wala pa, meron pa talaga kasi two weeks to go pa naman,” Education Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio said in a vitrual media briefing on Monday.

One of these schools apparently is Corazon Aquino Elementary School in Quezon City. School principal Oline Sayson said she is hoping they will be able to distribute the modules to students by next week.[Translation: The printing is still ongoing.] Two months ago, logistics issues due to the modified enhanced community quarantine forced the postponement of the August 24 opening.

Due to budget constraints, modules in some subjects would be used “on rotation basis” between two learners. However, health officials raised safety concerns as incorrect use of UV light can cause more harm than good.
