WHAT was supposed to be a normal day Tuesday, April 12, for students and teachers of Uybico Bilbao National High School in Hinoba-an town, Negros Occidental turned tragic when their principal shot dead one of the teachers and her husband inside the campus.
Initial investigation conducted by Corporal Francisco Sabanal Jr. showed that Escosar arrived at the school campus onboard his pick-up truck armed with two firearms past 8 a.m. Witnesses claimed that the husband fell from the motorcycle and died on the spot, while the teacher ran toward an open classroom supposedly to hide but the suspect followed her.
A source, who requested anonymity, told SunStar Bacolod that students who were having classes were startled upon seeing the incident and some of them ran toward the nearby sugarcane field without their slippers to hide.
