The prices of round fruits in Divisoria, Manila have started to soar ahead of the celebration of New Year’s Eve.

In a report on “State of the Nation” on Monday, the price of clementines or kiat-kiat is now at P50 to P60 per kilo. Grapes are currently priced at P200 per kilo; oranges are at P25 per kilo; persimmons are at P25 to P40 while pears are at P30 per kilo.Vendors said they are not expecting any increase in the prices, the report said.

Fewer customers are buying in the market but the sellers are already readying their stocks for the influx of last-minute shoppers for Media Noche, it added.
