A shootout between the Philippine National Police and suspected members of the New People's Army transpired on Tuesday afternoon in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.According to a police report, the shooting incident occurred at 12:20 p.m.
in Barangay Trinidad after the alleged NPA members allegedly harassed and opened fire on the 2nd Mobile Force Company of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office.Police personnel allegedly heard 10 successive gunshots within a distance of more or less 500 meters, prompting them to retaliate.
