PITX records 130k passengers ahead of Holy Week break

Thousands of passengers trooped to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange ahead of the Holy Week break, according to a ''24 Oras Weekend'' report by Jamie Santos on Saturday.Up to 130,000 passengers passed through the terminal on Friday, higher than the average of 110,000 to 120,000 passengers.PITX sees up to 1.7 million passengers headed for Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, and Bicol during the Holy Week break.

In addition to K-9 units examining luggage and cops conducting patrols, police assistance desks have been set up in the transport terminal. Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism urged the public to only avail of accredited tourist services and subscribe to credible sources while traveling during Holy Week.The Bureau of Immigration also warned against scammers charging up to P5,000 in alleged eTravel registration fees.
