The Australian government launches a COVID-19 support program that will co-finance business ideas on digitalization, skills development, and mental health.

Got a business idea that aims to address current issues brought about by the coronavirus pandemic? The Australian government may provide you up to AUD500,000 or P17.5 million for that proposal.

The Australian embassy in Manila on Tuesday, September 22, announced a call for proposals from registeredThe BPP, a flagship initiative of the Australian government, will co-finance ideas that “contribute to digitalization, skills development for workers and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, economic opportunities for women, or green recovery.”

According to the embassy,"applicants must match or exceed BPP funding through cash and in-kind investment."Cybersecurity for small and medium enterprisesDigital skills, big data, artificial intelligence, and data analytics “This is an exciting opportunity for businesses to partner with the Australian government to drive impact and change to help the Philippines bounce back from. The commercial ideas we will support will create jobs, enhance gender equality, and assist economic recovery,” said Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Steve Robinson AO.

Interested individuals must complete a concept note, which indicates information about the commercial initiative, the social and environmental impact it aims to create, and the ability of the business to successfully deliver the initiative.The embassy will also hold information sessions and participants can register online.
