MANILA — The Philippine health department said Monday 63 Filipinos, spread in four different countries, have so far tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 , although two have already recovered.

The new virus strain, believed to have originated from the Chinese city of Wuhan in December, have already contaminated more than 78,000 people globally. The death toll has so far topped the 2,500 mark. “For the Hong Kong case, this is a domestic helper in Hong Kong who was taking care of a person who turned out to be positive also,” Vergeire said. “She did not have history of travel in the past two weeks. She is now in stable condition and being taken care of by government of Hong Kong.”

“He does not have travel history from China. And he is now confined in one of the facilities in Singapore and as reported, he is in stable condition.”
