PhilHealth recently announced its new spokesperson, Dr. Albert Domingo. Dr. Domingo will assume this new designation effective Monday, July 3, 2023.

Dr. Albert Domingo is a Vice President at the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation . He oversees primary care policy, in addition to serving as the Head Executive Staff of the Chairperson of the Board of Directors. He is also the Corporate Spokesperson.

Dr. Domingo is a physician and health systems specialist who graduated from the University of the Philippines and later on the University of Edinburgh where he was a Chevening Scholar of the United Kingdom. He has fifteen years of public health experience at country and international levels, having worked with WHO, ADB and USAID.

Dr. Domingo is familiar with health system interactions with non-communicable diseases, sexual and reproductive health, TB, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and emergency response in complex devolved settings. He is well versed with market systems approaches to health, which includes private sector engagement. He is also familiar with general principles of law and jurisprudence.

Dr. Domingo previously directed communication and disease prevention and control at the Department of Health , where he also supported the Officer-in-Charge Secretary of Health for legal, regulatory and management concerns. He has also functioned as senior technical staff at the Health Finance Policy Sector of PhilHealth.

Consistent with his passion and advocacy for health, Albert is also a licensed group fitness instructor.
