Countries like the Philippines, where COVID-19 cases have yet to make it past the first wave of infections, needed to be more cautious before further easing restrictions on movement of people, UK-based think tank Oxford Economics said. | bendeveraINQ

With most parts of the country currently under a less-restrictive GCQ, only 25 percent of economic activities remained banned.

For Oxford Economics, “pressure to prioritize ‘economy over health’ that results in lockdowns being eased too fast and too soon is a clear risk” worldwide. In the Philippines, officials earlier said that health had been prioritized over the economy as the government scrambled to establish additional medical and quarantine facilities during the lockdown to better respond to the pandemic.

In a separate report last Wednesday titled “Plotting recovery paths,” Oxford Economics head of India and Southeast Asia economics Priyanka Kishore and economist Thatchinamoorthy Krshnan placed India, the Philippines and Indonesia at the bottom of the pack in the region in its recovery scorecard.

bendeveraINQ God help our country. Yung desisyon ng govt is like choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea. Kung higpitan ang quarantine, wala nmn pondo at mamatay tao sa gutom, babagsak ekonomiya, kung luluwagan naman marami ang at risk to get infected. 😥😢😭

bendeveraINQ 'To each his own.' —Ph govt.'s motto. They need to get the economy starting, coz 'wala ng pera.', sabi nila. So regardless na nasa 25K plus na ang cases, they will relax the community quarantine. To my fellow Pinoys, let's just look after each other. Govt. cannot do it for us.

bendeveraINQ No we just have to boost our immune system. I will pee on that virus. We will spread thri our Balik Probinsya program

bendeveraINQ Hindi ah. Na flatten na nga dw at sabi ni Duque noon naka second wave na. Pang third wave na cguro ngayun. Hayyyyyyy sabi ni Teta nyu Mocha!! Hahaha

bendeveraINQ Ay di paniniwalaan to ng government. “Mind your own business, we know better because we are the best and the brightest” na naman ang response dito for sure 🤦🏽‍♂️

bendeveraINQ Wala na raw pera pang-ayuda.. kaya nasa 'bahala na kayo' phase na tayo...
