Dr. Ted Herbosa, a medical adviser of the National Task Force Against COVID-19, says the country’s positivity rate is at 2.8%. The World Health Organization recommends countries to reopen if they can maintain a positivity rate below 5% for at least 14 days

A medical adviser of the National Task Force Against COVID-19 said the country’s COVID-19 situation can be classified as “controlled” because of declining positivity rate.

In a briefing on Wednesday, Dr. Ted Herbosa noted that the country’s positivity rate, or the percentage of people who tested positive for COVID-19, is 2.8% only.The Department of Health has noted that the positivity rate has been below 5% for the 13th day in a row. The World Health Organization recommends countries or regions to reopen if they can maintain a positivity rate below 5% for at least 14 days.

Herbosa noted that this does not mean that the coronavirus has been eliminated and resurgence is still possible.
