MANILA, Philippines — The total number of active COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 59,543 after the Department of Health logged 6,955 new infections. According to the DOH’s daily bulletin, the active cases now compose 4.7% of the 1,262,273 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country since the pandemic started.Of this number, there are 1,180,998 recoveries, including an additional 8,109 new patients who have recovered from the disease.
The DOH also reported 181 new deaths, raising the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 21,537, which is 1.72% of the total caseload.
