Due to the increase in coronavirus disease cases in the past weeks, the Philippine Red Cross intensified its COVID-19 vaccination efforts to curb the spread of the virus.
“The strategic locations across the country of the PRC’s 26 Bakuna Centers alone has allowed them to vaccinate 1,944 individuals. These figures illustrate the substantial activities of the Centers in combating the spread of COVID-19,” PRC said. Additionally, the PRC Bakuna Teams also assisted the different local government units in Cagayan, Lucena, Quezon, Iligan, Basilan, Agusan del Norte, Sultan Kudarat and Bataan and were able to vaccinate 1,051 individuals in these areas.
With the current trend of ascending COVID-19 cases in the country, Gordon encourages the public to get vaccinated for immunity and protection against the highly transmissible virus and its variants.
