A former US ambassador points out the Philippine government must address the issues of corruption, bureaucracy, and inequality in its own backyard to move forward, instead of being too reliant with the superpowers like the United States, China, and Russia

A former United States ambassador said the Philippine government must address pressing issues in its own backyard and have a strong backbone, rather than being too reliant with the superpowers like the United States, China, and Russia.

"We must recognize that the Philippines' destiny is in its own hands and a strong Philippines will require a stronger economy and will require the president of the Philippines to address what I call that little rig of bureaucracy, regulation, inequality and corruption, you know," Chin told CNN Philippines’ Rico Hizon on The Final Word on Wednesday.

“I hope that’s what lies ahead for the Philippines regardless of who is the U.S. president,” said Chin, reacting on the possible implications of electing Democratic Party nominee Joe Biden as president in the U.S. presidential elections in November. "From my perspective as a long-time friend of the Philippines and a frequent visitor, I have faith in the Philippines, but it needs to free up the Filipino people by addressing those domestic issues," he added.

Yeah, because the United States is so corrupt themselves, difficult to rely on them to clean up corruption.

hy·poc·ri·sy knows no bounds this days. Wake up people you are now living in the information age. weather you like it or not present Philippine government is shaking the very core of the real corrupt people influencing the minds of the country. Learn your history wag shunga!

We can address that, by changing from the crappy Presidential system that you dolts made, and switching to the Parliamentary system that has more responsibilities, checks and balances. This is the result of your mass indoctrination in the early 1900s, so shove it, Imperialist.

Hindi lang sa panahon ni PRRD Kundi sa lahat ng naging presidente

Nobody cares about the US ambasssdors points anymore. First, get your own country together. Stop blaming other countries due to your own incompetence.

They can’t change and won’t change...lining their own pockets is way to easy and they simply don’t care for the people or the country🤦‍♂️

Masakit talaga ang katotohanan. Lagi nating bantayan ang kaban ng ating bayan. Walang higit na magmamalasakit sa Pilipinas kung hindi mga Filipino.

Pretty obvious that there is something fishy going on in this government ever since.
