The Department of Health on Tuesday recorded 339 new coronavirus infections, the lowest number registered since April 29.
This is the first time the daily cases went below 400 in 51 days and also the 11th straight day of having less than 1,000 cases, according to the GMA Integrated News Research. Data from the DOH's latest bulletin showed that the active cases went down to 8,270, the lowest record in the past 48 days. The country’s death toll, menawhile, remained at 66,482.
The National Capital Region has the highest number of cases, with 2,265 for the past two weeks, followed by Calabarzon with 1,505, Central Luzon with 1,476, Western Visayas with 934, and Cagayan Valley with 654. Among the cities and provinces, Iloilo recorded the most new cases in the past 14 days with 560, followed by Quezon City with 551, Cavite with 509, Bulacan with 408, and Pampanga with 380. COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 17.9%, with 4,6494 occupied and 20,654 vacant.
