BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei —The Philippine government is keen on fully opening up the tourism sector in Mindanao, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco said on Wednesday.Frasco told the Philippine media delegation here that the DOT has an agreement with the Megaworld Corporation for the latter to convert its tourism establishments into Muslim- and Halal -friendly enterprises.
"Secondarily, to expand our Muslim-friendly tourism offerings to our country para naman po 'yung other destinations natin ay mag-o-offer nito," she added.The Philippines and Brunei signed a deal which aims to increase tourist arrivals to or through both countries from world tourist-generating markets, and encourage a wider distribution of visitors to the various tourist destinations and attractions in both countries.
