Two drug suspects were arrested after they allegedly yielded around 20 kilos of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” worth P136 million during the conduct of a search warrant operation by anti-narcotics operatives in Muntinlupa City early Friday, Nov. 18, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said.Aurelien Cythere, 41, and Mark Anthony Sarayot, 42, were nabbed at around 12:30 a.m. at 34 Mabolo St. in Ayala-Alabang Village as authorities served a search warrant issued by the court.
In a statement, PDEA stated that the area where Cythene resides allegedly serves as a “medium-scale shabu laboratory” which was eventually dismantled during the operation. During the search, the PDEA said they confiscated the suspected shabu, various controlled precursors and essential chemicals , and laboratory equipment used for making shabu, several identification cards, three cellular phones, and assorted financial documents.
Cythene and Sarayot are now languishing at the PDEA Jail Facility and are now subject to intense investigation. The suspects face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
