Aside from 5,000 N95 respiratory masks and 3,300 grocery packs, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) will also distribute P150, 000 worth of medicines at evacuation sites in Batangas on Tuesday (Jan. 14).

PCSO General Manager Royina Garma said they will hand out medicines, N95 respiratory masks, and grocery packs to evacuees who fled their homes following the eruption of Taal Volcano.

Garma said the agency spent P950, 000 for the 3,300 grocery packs. She also said they will soon give financial assistance to local government units . “We will also give financial assistance sa [affected] LGUs but we are still determining the amount. We might give the financial assistance to the mayors next week po,” Garma said on Tuesday as they were on their way to Batangas.

The agency was also bringing medical teams and ambulances to evacuation sites in Batangas, as well as a bus to help with evacuation efforts. PCSO said it is essential for the evacuees to wear N95 respiratory masks, because of the hazard posed by ash fall particles in the ambient air.
